Memories of Kilmaurs soldier sought for new memorial
24 JanuaryAn appeal has been launched for information on a Kilmaurs soldier who is to be commemorated on a new memorial.
Sargeant Robert Ebeneezer Gilmour, whose last known address was in Kilmaurs, was killed on 28th April 1942 in an explosion at an army barracks in South West Wales. Gilmour, who was 33 died when a training exercise with land mines went wrong.
Anyone with memories or information on Sgt Gilmour is asked to get in touch with the Pembroke Dock Sunderland Trust, which is aiming to erect a memorial and display panel at the barracks.
