Delays ahead for drivers as Kilmaurs road closed for work
14 FebruaryThere will be delays and diversions ahead for drivers in Kilmaurs, with major resurfacing works coming to the A735 road to Stewarton.
From Monday 20 February, East Ayrshire Council will be carrying out re-surfacing works on the A735 – Kilmaurs to Stewarton Road from Peacockbank Farm to Lainshaw Street. These works are the first phase of a £170k expenditure on the A735 which is part of the major re-surfacing programme being carried out throughout East Ayrshire.
Due to the limited road widths on the A735 and the nature of the work, it will be necessary, for the safety of both the travelling public and the workers, to close the carriageway for the duration of the works. This will include the B769 from Cunninghamhead at its junction with the A735.
Diversion routes will be fully signed however it is inevitable that the closure of the above roads will lead to significant disruption. The Council apologises for any inconvenience the closures will cause, however these are essential works and will improve the quality of the road surface.
Blue Light Emergency Service access will be maintained at all times.
